Mitsubishi Colt 4G92 Mivec 200HP

Hi Guys!

Found this awesome video of Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg R from the net. Such an awesome build and this kind of modification never fails to amaze me. Apart from clean sporty looks, the engine bay is such candy to the eyes.

The language in in Thai but no worries you can turn on the cc features for translation (even the translation is not perfect). Hope one day when I have budget, definitely will upgrade my Proton Satria to be as cool as the car.

See you guys in the next post!

Hi Guys!

Not much for today post. When I browsing some videos from Youtube during my lunch hour, I came across with Proton Satria old advertisement. It does bring lot of memories to us Malaysian especially those who loves Proton Satria 😁

Proton Satria

Proton Satria GTi

Still remember watching this advertisement when I was still young at at that time 😆 By the way, are you guys still keeping your old Satria? If yes.. COOL! 😁 I know it is hard to maintain an old car but the passion and the love of the car makes you keep holding on to what you love😃

Take care and see you in the next post!

Bosch Fanfare Horn

Hi guys!

Nothing much on today post but I would like to share other accessories that I bought for my ride. I don't know why but my horn suddenly cannot be used anymore so I have to drive the car without horn. At first I thought won't mind driving without car horn but actually horn is quite necessary specially when you need to inform that you have reached home (for example) or when other cars make mistakes such as sudden entry to the junction etc.

I bought Bosch Fanfare horn from online shopping due to good review and the price is reasonable. It comes in two horns (low and high tones) as picture below:

the packaging

what's inside the box

The installation is quite straight forward as my current setup already using two horns. So just plug and play 😆. If you can install it without have to take off your car bumper than you are lucky. If not, you will need to take it out 😅

twin turbo 😆

The sound is quite loud but won't annoy your neighbors 😆. So it is a good buy for me. Glad that I chose this horn model. Affordably good stuff.

That's all for today post. Thank you for reading and a great day guys!

Proton Satria Mivec 4 Throttle

Hi Guys!

Nothing much for this post but I would like to share some of the cool video that I found from YouTube. From the video, the Proton Satria has been transplanted with MIVEC engine from Mitsubishi. What makes this build up different from other MIVEC setup is the use of individual throttle bodies on each cylinder. What a setup! Enough with the blabbering lets us go straight to the video 😆

I have been dreaming to use ITBs on my 4g93 MIVEC setup but still contemplated because I know that it is very hard to tune. If the tuner is not 'experienced' enough, the engine will make lesser horsepower output if compared to a normal intake setup. So for now I will stay with my current setup (Skunk2 Intake) and wait until I found the right parts and budget for this kind of setup.

See you in the next post!

Reservoir Tank Covers

Hi Guys! 10 years back, which is on September 2010, I bought pairs of reservoir cover for the brake reservoir tank and power steering reservoir tank. You can read it back here

And today, I bought again the reservoir tank cover since the one that I bought was torn and very bad in shape. At first I was looking for Ralliart covers which is sold in my country but I unable to locate it. Most covers that is sold in my country is small in size and not to my liking. So after few hours of online windows shopping, I managed to find the correct size which I was looking for. Without delay, I clicked on the "Buy Now" button 😝. After few days of waiting then the covers delivered to my doorstep and quickly I covered the naked reservoir tank. One word, satisfied! LoL.

blue is my favorite color actually... haha....

oh yes, change to newer and fancy bolts and washers on my MIVEC cylinder head top cover because.... why not? 😆

to install it is as easy as you wearing socks... lol

voila! my HKS reservoir tank cover and Password JDM dress up bolts and washers

Again, some of you might be thinking what is the function of it right? Well if you asked  me then my humble answer is for the wow effect in the engine bay 😂. By the way, the function is actually to absorb fluid from brake and clutch reservoir that may escape and spill into the engine bay or road under hard driving/braking.

Thank you and see yo guys in the next post.

Engine Rebuild. Completed.

Hi Guys!

I took my car today from the garage. Finally the project is completed.

By the way, i still remember that last engine rebuild/overhaul was done back in May 2009. During 2009, my project was quite crazy..  using VTEC parts etc. Yeah, I'm quite crazy at that time. Wanna try new things. HEHE.

For 2014, no more crazy project like last time. Using back all 4G93 and MIVEC parts. Bought back 4G93 connecting rods and crankshaft ( because i sold my rods and crank to a person from oversea back in 2010 TT ). Change my VTEC 81mm piston to MIVEC 82mm over-sized high compression piston. Other parts can be seen from my previous post...

My 1.9L MIVEC (1881cc)

By the way, this is my valve cover/rocker cover. Look quite nice with the wrinkle effect right? :p HEHE

spray with Gox7 wrinkle spray.....

A closer view of the texture............

All i can say, i am very happy with the new setup. After breaking in the engine ( using dyno machine to break-in the engine... thanks to the technology :p), My mechanic did dyno tuning to the engine. Seriously i am very happy to see the horsepower gains (secret :p). The response is astonishing!

Voila!!!!

My 2014 Engine Specification:

4G92 MIVEC Cylinder Head (skimmed).
4G93 Engine Block (Bore to fit over-sized piston)
Toto 82mm MIVEC Pistons
ACL Race Bearings

Arospeed Camshaft Pulley
NGK Power Cables
NGK Iridium Plugs
Skunk 2 Intake Manifold
Super 90 70mm Throttle Body
Cusco 4-2-1 Header
Works Engineering Adjustable Fuel Regulator
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump

Thanks for reading guys! Next modification? Well See you in the next post :P

Engine Rebuild. Work In Progress: Part 2

Hi guys.

The overhauling project is almost done. Below are some of the pictures that i managed to capture and share with you readers!

When i went to the garage, the engine is already inside the engine bay... as you can see above.

bring me back to life!!! :P

And yeah. Upgrade my fuel pump to aftermarket fuel pump from Walbro. Why? because it is time to change my stock fuel pump with a better one. Other than that, the Walbro fuel pump has a higher flow rate than my current pump. It is capable of providing additional fuel to the injectors when necessary, preventing fuel under-run.

Walbro 255 lph in-tank fuel pump.....

Since my valve cover looks soooo bad (as you can see from the first two pictures above).. i asked my mechanic to help me to respray back the rocker cover. I really love the wrinkle effect which can be seen in most of Honda Vtec valve cover, so i search on the internet and i managed to get the spray can that i was looking for.

Gox7 Winkle Blue color + Gox7 Primer/Undercoat.

Stay tuned for more!!!

Engine Rebuild. Work In Progress : Part 1

Hi Guys!

Just wanna share with you guys some update on my engine rebuilding :)

All necessary parts for the engine block:

ACL Race Engine Bearing this time for main & rod, ACL Thrust Washer and  RIK piston rings.

As mentioned in the previous post, i want to change my engine setup from using P30 VTEC piston to 82mm oversized MIVEC piston.

bye bye p30 piston......

high compression TOTO piston (http://www.totopiston.co.kr/toto/index.html). 82mm in size (stock piston size is 81mm). No budget for WISECO/CP piston ( T T )

Dont want to expose my timing belt this time. Lesson Learnt. HAHA.

HKS transparent timing belt cover.

Since i was working during the internal parts installation, i did not managed to snap pictures of the process.

Below are some picture of the installation process:

4g93 connecting rods (last time using P30 VTEC connecting rods) , crankshaft and pistons are all inside the rebored engine block.......

look at the piston dome...yeah....high compression setup. yummyyyy :P

bottom part. almost done.

delicious.....................

engine block.

AGAIN.. i was working during cylinder head rebuilding process.... SO these are the only pictures that i can share (T T)

change all the necessary parts for the cylinder head (new timing belt, seals, grind valve etc)

so fresh so clean....

The work is still in progress. Stay tuned for more readers!!!

HWL Fully Adjustable Suspension With Body Shift.

Hello Guys!

Good day to you. Its been a while right? by the way, i have upgraded my suspension from GAB sport suspension to HWL fully adjustable suspension (Hi/Lo & Soft/Hard + Body Shift).

The packaging.....

unboxing.... yummyyyyyyy :P

fully adjustable.....

installed.....

The spring rate that i choose is 6k on the front and 4k on the back. For me the spring rate is suitable for both hard driving and daily driving. After the installation, i can straight away feel the ride becomes more rigid and the driving feel is sooooooo much better. Other than that, the ride also feel a little bit bumpy since the spring rate is much higher than the stock suspension.

I think i need to make some adjustment on rear camber ( negative camber) since i set the car lower to the ground (better center gravity which can translate to better handling). I need to do the adjustment because i'm using 8jj wheels (wide). Sometimes the tires will rub the fender during hard corner.

Conclusion

Pros : better handling, freedom of adjustment to suit your handling characteristic, serviceable, can swap to higher spring rate if you want anytime, cosmetic purposes.

Cons: a little bit bumpy since the spring rate is higher.

April 2013 Engine Setup

Hi guys!

Its been a looooooonnnggg time since last update. By the way, I've just change my small aluminium radiator to big 3 layers full aluminium radiator.

Next i might change to new header because the current 4-1 R3 header got crack inside. Still thinking which header setup should i go for. Whether to stick with 4-1 setup or 4-2-1 Cusco or maybe 4-2-1 Hytech design........ Any recommendation guys?

Regards.

A Little of Update

Hi guys :)

I would like to wish all my moslem reader, happy fasting in the holy month of Ramadhan. So back to the topic, here are some updates on my ride.

Change to a new lower arm for both sides (sorry i forgot to take pictures) since i spotted bent on my rear lower arm. Other than that, i installed Ultra Racing rear lower arm bar (picture above) to replace the old one. Seriously i can say the Ultra Racing is much more better in giving me better ride handling since the bar is much more thicker than my previous 'no brand' bar.

Other than that, after much consideration, i revert back to standard MIVEC air box after using custom direct cold air intake without any filter in it. Maybe i'm getting older? LOL

By the way, sorry for the lack of update. Thank a million for those who still following this blog. I will update it from time to time.

Regards!

Race-Tech Smooth Shift

Hi guys!

I have a problem.. which is,  everytime i shift between gear (especially on high rpm) , i always miss shift. This is bad!  ... so i searched through forums and articles of what can i do to have a better feeling when i change between gears. This are what i found.: change to a better shift bushing linkage kit and short/quick shifter.

Luckily in Malaysia, i can get it easyily since Race-Tech Produce this linkage bushing which is called Race-Tech Smooth Shift. So i guess why not?

the packaging....

The Race-TECH Smooth Shift is made out of top quality aluminum with Aeronautics quality T-6061 and CNC to the finest available clearance to eliminate excessive free play on the gear lever linkage.

another one installed !

Result? YES! It does do wonders! Better feeling during gear changes! Smooth shift and feel solid too. Recommended for those who are facing miss-shift problem ... like me :P The price is affordable. MYR110. Maybe next i will upgrade to short shifter... when i have the budget :P
