Crazy 4g93 (310E) Engine Built By HKS

Hi guys!

I would like to share some of the pictures and information that I found on the net regarding super 4g93 engine built by a well known Japanese tuner which is HKS. As one of the user of 4g93 engine (with MIVEC top set) in a Proton Satria, this kind of engineering really amazed me 😍

The first gen of 310E engine. Look at those intake and header setup 😱

Second gen of 310E engine.... GDI direct injection setup. also use different intake and header setup.

Developed based on Mitsubishi 4g93 cast iron engine. The first version cc was increased from 1834cc to 1994cc producing 180hp with 26kgm of torque. The later version (GDI) with much more refine setup able to produce higher power output which is 208hp with 26.8kgm of torque 👏

The F3 car that was using the 4g93 based engine (310E) won the third round of the 1997 F3 Championship 👍

That's all for today. See you in the next post! 😊

Reservoir Tank Covers

Hi Guys! 10 years back, which is on September 2010, I bought pairs of reservoir cover for the brake reservoir tank and power steering reservoir tank. You can read it back here

And today, I bought again the reservoir tank cover since the one that I bought was torn and very bad in shape. At first I was looking for Ralliart covers which is sold in my country but I unable to locate it. Most covers that is sold in my country is small in size and not to my liking. So after few hours of online windows shopping, I managed to find the correct size which I was looking for. Without delay, I clicked on the "Buy Now" button 😝. After few days of waiting then the covers delivered to my doorstep and quickly I covered the naked reservoir tank. One word, satisfied! LoL.

blue is my favorite color actually... haha....

oh yes, change to newer and fancy bolts and washers on my MIVEC cylinder head top cover because.... why not? 😆

to install it is as easy as you wearing socks... lol

voila! my HKS reservoir tank cover and Password JDM dress up bolts and washers

Again, some of you might be thinking what is the function of it right? Well if you asked  me then my humble answer is for the wow effect in the engine bay 😂. By the way, the function is actually to absorb fluid from brake and clutch reservoir that may escape and spill into the engine bay or road under hard driving/braking.

Thank you and see yo guys in the next post.

Open Pod Air Filter Comparison

Hi guys!

In today's post, i would like to share some comparison done by Revspeed magazine Japan. Nowadays a lot petrolheads change their stock airbox to open pod air filter. But the question is that which one is the best in flowing as much air as possible, without sacrificing filtration efficiency. The article compares for most popular kits available which are HKS, Apexi, Blitz and K&N.

Important Notes regarding the comparison:
  1. Extracts of this article have been transcribed from a Japanese article featured in Revspeed Magazine, August 1999.
  2. The original test was based upon the results found when using filters specifically made to fit the Toyota Supra. However, the filtration is unlikely to differ, as all the filtration materials used are the same for every model of car.
  3. The cost given for the filters are based on a the kit for an R33 Skyline GTR, except the K & N kit which only currently exists for a Skyline GTS, and are inclusive of VAT.

From the comparison, we can see that Apexi Power Intake wins the test in both filtration and power gains. But for me it is still questionable since the HKS are proven to sell more in the market if compare with others induction kit. I think the battle is futile. So the question still stands, "Which Induction Kit is the best?". You can accept the result from the test then the Apexi Power Intake is the winner but if you are still skeptical don't worry as the performance gains are quite the same =)

regards.
