New Year 2023

Happy new year guys!

Well, since my racecraft carbon fiber hood condition is quite bad, so I decided to install back my stock hood to my satria. Will send the carbon fiber hood for refurbish when I have the budget. By the way, do you have contacts for shop which can provide carbon fiber refurbish service? if yes do share in the comment section.

look at that CF hood condition πŸ˜…

                   same old brand new you?

Been keeping this stock hood in my store for a out 12 years if I remember correctly πŸ˜… So much different in weight if compare to my carbon fiber hood🀣

On the other hand, not much update on the car but I just changed my car aircond compressor and replace the faulty FICD when i sent the car for engine oil change. Now the car feel much better when idling everytime I turn on the air conditioning. What to do, running with aircond is a must in our climate 😝

Mitsubishi Colt 4G92 Mivec 200HP

Hi Guys!

Found this awesome video of Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg R from the net. Such an awesome build and this kind of modification never fails to amaze me. Apart from clean sporty looks, the engine bay is such candy to the eyes.

The language in in Thai but no worries you can turn on the cc features for translation (even the translation is not perfect). Hope one day when I have budget, definitely will upgrade my Proton Satria to be as cool as the car.

See you guys in the next post!

Proton Satria : The Journey Goes On

Hi guys!

Nothing much on today post. Just want to share my Proton Satria picture after few months this car was hibernating in the house garage during Malaysia's 3rd movement control order (MCO). Below picture was taken when I brought the car to car wash nearby to remove all the stubborn dirt/dust and cat paws print on the windscreen πŸ˜‚

Not much update to the engine/body. Just the same old "Blue Shinkansen" that some of you guys know few years back (except aging carbon fiber hood and body paint🀣)

So much planning on this car but keeps on delaying it, since more focus put on my beloved family 😁 Will share update on this ride and keep on following my blog 😊

Thank you!

Crazy 4g93 (310E) Engine Built By HKS

Hi guys!

I would like to share some of the pictures and information that I found on the net regarding super 4g93 engine built by a well known Japanese tuner which is HKS. As one of the user of 4g93 engine (with MIVEC top set) in a Proton Satria, this kind of engineering really amazed me 😍

The first gen of 310E engine. Look at those intake and header setup 😱

Second gen of 310E engine.... GDI direct injection setup. also use different intake and header setup.

Developed based on Mitsubishi 4g93 cast iron engine. The first version cc was increased from 1834cc to 1994cc producing 180hp with 26kgm of torque. The later version (GDI) with much more refine setup able to produce higher power output which is 208hp with 26.8kgm of torque πŸ‘

The F3 car that was using the 4g93 based engine (310E) won the third round of the 1997 F3 Championship πŸ‘

That's all for today. See you in the next post! 😊

Sus.Tec Bonnet Damper for Proton Satria

Hi Guys!

Few years back which I cant recalled when, I have already installed bonnet damper. If I remember correctly, I bought Komo bonnet damper. It was good but until one day, I took it off because it doesn't perform well anymore, maybe due to normal wear and tear. Since that, I have been using stock bonnet stand.

Last week as usual, when I start some online window shopping, I came across with an advertisement regarding bonnet damper. Without any delay, as usual, I clicked on "Buy" button. I bought Sus.Tec (Sustec) bonnet damper since the price is quite affordable and good review from other buyers.

love the color of the damper πŸ˜†

The installation is quite straightforward, You just need to unscrew those screw that I circle below. After that, you can start by install the damper on side at a time. Once done, tighten back the screws. Voila~ and the installation is completed!

simple as ABC

At first, you might feel that your engine hood is quite hard but give it a bit of pressure and you might be able to close the hood. Its normal since the damper has is still new and has been sit for quite sometime in the box.

tadaaaa!

Thank you for reading guys! Please stay healthy and together fight Covid-19 pandemic. See you in the next post πŸ˜ƒ

Bosch Fanfare Horn

Hi guys!

Nothing much on today post but I would like to share other accessories that I bought for my ride. I don't know why but my horn suddenly cannot be used anymore so I have to drive the car without horn. At first I thought won't mind driving without car horn but actually horn is quite necessary specially when you need to inform that you have reached home (for example) or when other cars make mistakes such as sudden entry to the junction etc.

I bought Bosch Fanfare horn from online shopping due to good review and the price is reasonable. It comes in two horns (low and high tones) as picture below:

the packaging

what's inside the box

The installation is quite straight forward as my current setup already using two horns. So just plug and play πŸ˜†. If you can install it without have to take off your car bumper than you are lucky. If not, you will need to take it out πŸ˜…

twin turbo πŸ˜†

The sound is quite loud but won't annoy your neighbors πŸ˜†. So it is a good buy for me. Glad that I chose this horn model. Affordably good stuff.

That's all for today post. Thank you for reading and a great day guys!

Proton Satria Mivec 4 Throttle

Hi Guys!

Nothing much for this post but I would like to share some of the cool video that I found from YouTube. From the video, the Proton Satria has been transplanted with MIVEC engine from Mitsubishi. What makes this build up different from other MIVEC setup is the use of individual throttle bodies on each cylinder. What a setup! Enough with the blabbering lets us go straight to the video πŸ˜†

I have been dreaming to use ITBs on my 4g93 MIVEC setup but still contemplated because I know that it is very hard to tune. If the tuner is not 'experienced' enough, the engine will make lesser horsepower output if compared to a normal intake setup. So for now I will stay with my current setup (Skunk2 Intake) and wait until I found the right parts and budget for this kind of setup.

See you in the next post!

Reservoir Tank Covers

Hi Guys! 10 years back, which is on September 2010, I bought pairs of reservoir cover for the brake reservoir tank and power steering reservoir tank. You can read it back here

And today, I bought again the reservoir tank cover since the one that I bought was torn and very bad in shape. At first I was looking for Ralliart covers which is sold in my country but I unable to locate it. Most covers that is sold in my country is small in size and not to my liking. So after few hours of online windows shopping, I managed to find the correct size which I was looking for. Without delay, I clicked on the "Buy Now" button 😝. After few days of waiting then the covers delivered to my doorstep and quickly I covered the naked reservoir tank. One word, satisfied! LoL.

blue is my favorite color actually... haha....

oh yes, change to newer and fancy bolts and washers on my MIVEC cylinder head top cover because.... why not? πŸ˜†

to install it is as easy as you wearing socks... lol

voila! my HKS reservoir tank cover and Password JDM dress up bolts and washers

Again, some of you might be thinking what is the function of it right? Well if you asked  me then my humble answer is for the wow effect in the engine bay πŸ˜‚. By the way, the function is actually to absorb fluid from brake and clutch reservoir that may escape and spill into the engine bay or road under hard driving/braking.

Thank you and see yo guys in the next post.

New Intake Setup

Hi guys!

For the last 2 months, i have been thinking of changing my intake setup. After a bit of research and guidance from my mechanic, i choose to go for Mugen air-box setup which is originally made for Honda's engine.

Haven't dyno the engine so i can't share with you guys any increments (perhaps :p) figure.

So far.... i'm happy with the setup 😁

And yeah, i also relocate my battery at the back in order to give a bit more space in the bay for the intake setup. My engine bay look quite neat after the battery relocation.

Engine Rebuild. Completed.

Hi Guys!

I took my car today from the garage. Finally the project is completed.

By the way, i still remember that last engine rebuild/overhaul was done back in May 2009. During 2009, my project was quite crazy..  using VTEC parts etc. Yeah, I'm quite crazy at that time. Wanna try new things. HEHE.

For 2014, no more crazy project like last time. Using back all 4G93 and MIVEC parts. Bought back 4G93 connecting rods and crankshaft ( because i sold my rods and crank to a person from oversea back in 2010 TT ). Change my VTEC 81mm piston to MIVEC 82mm over-sized high compression piston. Other parts can be seen from my previous post...

My 1.9L MIVEC (1881cc)

By the way, this is my valve cover/rocker cover. Look quite nice with the wrinkle effect right? :p HEHE

spray with Gox7 wrinkle spray.....

A closer view of the texture............

All i can say, i am very happy with the new setup. After breaking in the engine ( using dyno machine to break-in the engine... thanks to the technology :p), My mechanic did dyno tuning to the engine. Seriously i am very happy to see the horsepower gains (secret :p). The response is astonishing!

Voila!!!!

My 2014 Engine Specification:

4G92 MIVEC Cylinder Head (skimmed).
4G93 Engine Block (Bore to fit over-sized piston)
Toto 82mm MIVEC Pistons

Timing Belt..... SNAPPED!

Hi Guys!

Never thought this thing could happened :(

Painful moment.....

Towed my car to my panel workshop for inspection. There are several damages. Need to rebuild the engine back.

Dismantling the cylinder head....

Do you know what does it mean? yes... it is time for new engine setup. For this new setup, after discussing with my mechanic, i made up my mind to go for oversize MIVEC piston (82 mm) and using back 4g93 connecting rods. No more VTEC piston and connecting rods this time :P

I am very sure that this setup will increase my horsepower since using oversize high compression piston. We will see how it goes.

HWL Fully Adjustable Suspension With Body Shift.

Hello Guys!

Good day to you. Its been a while right? by the way, i have upgraded my suspension from GAB sport suspension to HWL fully adjustable suspension (Hi/Lo & Soft/Hard + Body Shift).

The packaging.....

unboxing.... yummyyyyyyy :P

fully adjustable.....

installed.....

The spring rate that i choose is 6k on the front and 4k on the back. For me the spring rate is suitable for both hard driving and daily driving. After the installation, i can straight away feel the ride becomes more rigid and the driving feel is sooooooo much better. Other than that, the ride also feel a little bit bumpy since the spring rate is much higher than the stock suspension.

I think i need to make some adjustment on rear camber ( negative camber) since i set the car lower to the ground (better center gravity which can translate to better handling). I need to do the adjustment because i'm using 8jj wheels (wide). Sometimes the tires will rub the fender during hard corner.

Conclusion

Pros : better handling, freedom of adjustment to suit your handling characteristic, serviceable, can swap to higher spring rate if you want anytime, cosmetic purposes.

Cons: a little bit bumpy since the spring rate is higher.

Cusco 'style' 4-2-1 header

Hi guys!

Yesterday, i have changed my header from R3 4-1 header to Cusco style 4-2-1 header. I decided to change the header because my R3 header cracked. I decided to change to 4-2-1 header because i want to try new setup for my mivec. The header also have better ground clearance if compared to my 4-1 header.

the downpipe.... sorry the upper part picture of the header lost.... but i think most of u guys know how the cusco 4-2-1 header look like right? :P

turn golden in color after few hours of driving . yummy

side view.

After all, I am quite happy with the power delivery especially from low end to mid. Still don't have time to tune it on the dyno machine. Hope can get much better horsepower then last time which i already happy :P
Sorry.. the figure i need to keep it for myself :)
