The second-generation Perodua Alza (D27A) is essentially a co-developed model with Daihatsu and Toyota, based on the Daihatsu Xenia / Toyota Veloz platform (DNGA – Daihatsu New Global Architecture).

All new Daihatsu Xenia

All new Toyota Veloz

Here’s how the collaboration works:

  • 🏗️ Platform Sharing: The Alza shares its underpinnings with the Toyota Veloz and Daihatsu Xenia, all built on the DNGA platform.

  • 🚘 Design & Features: While the core structure and mechanicals are common, Perodua localized the styling, equipment levels, and pricing to suit Malaysian buyers.

  • 🔧 Manufacturing: The Alza is assembled by Perodua in Malaysia, with adaptations for local regulations and customer preferences.

So, it’s not just a rebadge — Perodua actively participated in tailoring the Alza for Malaysia, but the DNA is shared with Daihatsu and Toyota.
