Duratech High Performance Camshaft
Hi guys.
Just a quick update. Duratech just launched new product to asian market which is high performance camshaft for 4g93 and 4g93T. It is also suitable for 4g91, and 4g92 DOHC non MIVEC. Specification offers as follow :
Duration: 272deg IN , 272deg EX
valve lift: 10.85 IN , 10.85 EX
Valve spring : 16pcs


According to the manufacturer/supplier, this spec is very good for street application.

My 'Race Machine'
As promised! In this post i would like to share with you my other ' race machine ' =p. Picture below.
My Mini 4WD
I can still remember last time. What i want to achieve is to have the fastest engine from others. I can say that I've spent a lot during that time but i don't regret that =) What the most important this is i can learn about engine , handling , DIY and whatsoever.
Nowadays, I can see that this mini 4WD is very different in design. Not like last time. The body is wider and the design is a bit peculiar. Haha. Maybe, that's just me. After doing some research on it and consult one of my brother's friend , which is very pioneer with this mini 4WD machine said that today's race is not just about horsepower. It's all about handling. What's the point of having a fast machine but in the middle, the machine jump off from the circuit.
By the way, according to my brother's friend, my machine can classified as 'super car' in today's race since the power generated from the motor is high and from the design of the body. But he also said that if i want to compete in today's race, i have to buy a new shell since today's rules & regulation don't approve this kind of shell. Don't know why. Hmmm. Maybe i'll try to consult other mini 4WD racers to confirm this matter.

TRD Clutch & Flywheel For The 4AGE
Hi guys.
Since the current TRD 3 pucks clutch worn out, finally my brother made up his mind to take another set of TRD clutch for his beloved 4AGE engine. But for this time, he chose the full-face organic TRD race clutch and not the 3 pucks design. Pictures below.



He made the decision to choose the full-face design because he founds that the 3 pucks design tends to wear out really fast. A 'no no' for a guy who uses the car as a daily driven car and during weekend track days. Other than that, he also upgraded the stock blacktop flywheel to lightweight ones made by TRD . Picture below.

After the upgrade, i can say the clutch are grippy like the previous 3 pucks design and it wont judder when take off from standstill. The engine also revving 'happily' , thanks to the lightweight flywheel.

Keiichi Tsuchiya Is In Town!

Wow. My idol, Mr Keiichi is currently in Malaysia because he is competing in Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race ( MME ) at Sepang International Circuit this Saturday , August 8 which is tomorrow! He will be driving Honda S2000 in class A1 under J's Racing Labs Banner and he will be partnering with race driver Junichi Umemoto and Hideo Kubota (last year's champion in class A)

Engine Oil Cooler
Konniciwa.
Engine oil cooler is one of the must have item for those who love to whack their car on track days without sacrificing their engine reliability. So in today's post i would like to share some of the informations about engine oil cooler. Picture below is an example of what engine cooler look alike.

Engines Internal parts (combustion) need lubricant in order to operate. In cars, that lubricant is known appropriately as motor oil/engine oil or whatever you call it. The key measure of a motor oil is its 'viscosity' . Viscosity is the state of being thick, sticky and semifluid in consistency, due to internal friction. When heated, motor oil tends to lose its viscosity; if the oil is heated far enough, it will thin out enough that it cannot serve its primary function of lubricating the engine's moving parts. Lubrication, however, is not oil's only function. It also serves as a coolant, transporting heat from inside the engine block to the oil pan, where it can be dissipated into the surrounding air. Problems arise when an engine is running fast enough and hot enough that the oil is never left in the pan long enough to properly cool. This usually happens suddenly, since engine temperatures rise with increased engine revs. As a result, engines that run fast and long are vulnerable to oil breakdown.
The engine oil cooler is one of the solution. An engine oil cooler is nothing more complicated than a separate radiator dedicated to the engine's oil supply. An oil line is run (usually from the oil filter adapter) to the oil cooler, which is placed somewhere in the flow of outside (cooler) air, such as behind the engine fan. Oil leaves the engine and then runs to the cooler, which is typically a finned metal block with passages through it for the oil. The increased surface area and cooler airflow cools the oil more quickly than the oil pan, and the oil (and engine) can withstand higher heat.
I've heard some people said that the engine oil cooler it is not good but i just can't accept that. If it is not good, then what's the reason of invented it? Or maybe you can share with us any cons of using it?

The Stig Is Actually Michael Schumacher ?
The real Stig? too good to be true huh =p
By the way congrats to Micheal Schumacher who is currently The Stig for breaking the records of Top Gear's power lap times with the Ferrari FXX ( Racing version of Enzo & generate 860 hp). I really love the car BUT, eventhough it cost million of pounds , none of the 30 peoples who bought one have ever take delivery , meaning you buy this car and Ferrari will keep it at the factory =p. By the way they will take the car at the race track and let you ( who bought it ) borrow your own car for the day and then after that they will take it away again . That's funny =p
